No one is coming
No one is coming.
No one is coming to save you.
No one is coming to change your diet.
No one is coming to make you exercise.
No one is coming to put you into therapy.
No one is coming to clean your house.
No one is coming to get you up early.
No one is coming to DIY.
No one is coming to food prep.
No one is coming to get you sober.
No one is coming to save you from you.
No one is going to put you first.
If you need saving, YOU have to be your own hero.
It’s hard to be fat, and it’s hard to make good food choices. Choose your hard.
It’s hard to exercise, but it’s also hard to tie your shoes over your gut. Choose your hard.
It’s hard to dig deep in therapy, but it’s hard to live with trauma. Choose your hard.
It’s hard to clean your house, but it’s hard to live in filth. Choose your hard.
It’s hard to get up early, but we all get the same 24 hours. It’s hard to sleep in and make the day count. Choose your hard.
It’s hard to learn new skills and fix your house, but it’s hard to live with broken stuff. Choose your hard.
It’s hard to prepare food in advance, but it’s also hard to be in a food emergency with no plan. Choose your hard.
Addiction is really hard. So is sobriety. Choose your hard.
If you’re reading this and it triggers you, ask yourself why. Is it because I’m being hurtful? Or am I telling you the truth?
It is hard to tell the truth, because people don’t want to hear it. It is critical to tell the truth for the very same reason.
In a society where we have EVERYTHING at our fingertips, we’ve learned to squander the day away with the swipe of a finger. We make excuses. We sit. We’re idle. Then we wonder why we feel awful, have no energy and are suffering from an epidemic of mental health issues.
Put down your phone (after you finish reading this of course).
Take back your life.
In a world where you can be anything, be alive. Pick one thing from this list, and start. Get it done. Get after it. Move forward. Do the dang thing. Stop procrastinating. Start working on the next right thing.
In 30 days, look back and see how far you’ve come! You are your own hero.
